General information / Commissions

Photographers who sell images via Tastylemon earn money according
to their commission rate. Every sale of 1 of your images earns you a
percentage of the total price of the image.

For photographers, we tie each credit to a static ratio. In other words,
you can always calculate your earnings based on a conversion rate of

                              1 credit = $0.80

For instance, if a buyer purchases an image for 25 credits and your
commission is 50%, then you will receive $10.00.

                       50% of 25 credits = 12.5

                             12.5 x $0.80 = $10

This is actually a protective mechanism for photographers. Most stock
sites base your earnings on the 'price' their buyers paid for the credits.
This means that if a buyer purchases a bulk credit package of say 2,000
credits where each credit is worth $0.35, your earnings will be calculated
according to the ratio 1 credit = $0.35.

Since the most frequent buyers of stock images purchase their credits at
discounted bulk prices, this dynamic ratio actually reduces your earnings
over the long-run.

Boosting your commission

The base commission rate for new photographers is 30%, but you can
increase your commission rate quickly by earning more karma.

Every time you upload images, sell images, or participate in the community
by posting blogs, liking and commenting, you receive good karma. What's
more is that you also receive karma when your images are liked or
commented on.

Your karma count is below your avatar at the top right corner of this website.

Currently, users can increase their commission by 30%.  That means by
increasing your karma you can earn as much as 60% of each image sale.
